Exploring New Avenues in Nursing: Life Experiences of Nurses in Extended Role

LaxmiMemorial College of Nursing in association with IAPH(innovative alliance for public health), Karnataka, organized a Young Nurses Conference-Mangalore Region-2019 on Exploring new avenues in nursing: Life experiences of nurses in extended role on 7th June 2019.

The conference was inaugurated by the chief guest Mrs.GrracyLobo, Nursing Superintendent, KMC Hospital, Attavar, Mangalore. She highlighted the importance of conducting such kind conference topic for young nurses. She also appealed the young nurses to join clinical and take up positions based on their skill and knowledge.

Prof.Dr.Larissa Martha Sams, Principal, LaxmiMemorial College of Nursing, Mangaluru, and Convenor of this conference stated that “ Nursing Curriculum is a comprehensive, interdisciplinary and holistic in nature than any other medical syllabus.

Mrs. ReemaJ Andrade, Executive, IAPH, Karnataka, unveiled the theme of this conference to the crowd. She presented the gap in the recruitment if nurses in the rural health system using the rural health survey data. She also echoed that nurses are willing to join the clinical services but are quitting due to the heavy nurse- patient ratio, workplace violence’sect,.

On this occasion Dr..Theresa L. Mendonca, Vice Principal, Mr.RajaRatanGupta, KNC, Observer were present.

The conference OrganizingSecretary Mrs. Sandhya DAlmeida, welcomed the gathering, Mrs.Manjusha, Lecturer, LMCN, compered the program.

One of the delegates briefed out the feedback of this conferenceProf.Dr.Theresa L Mendonca released the e- booklet and the link were sent to the delegates through e-mail and Whatsapp.

Mrs.Reema J Anrade and Mrs.Sandha D Almeida, distributed the participation certificates to the delegates.
