The Gender harassment cell of Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing functions under the guidelines of the Gender harassment committee of AJ institute of Health Sciences. Dr. Jenifer D’Souza, Professor and HOD of community health nursing is the representative of the committee. The committee holds meetings once in two months and discusses issues if any.
The Gender harassment committee was constituted relating to sexual harassment of working women and students in the institution.
The main objectives and responsibilities of the committee:
To receive complaints from students and staff.
To provide an environment free from any gender biases.
To provide awareness to raise issues of Gender Harassment.
Maintain confidentiality.
To take decision impartially among persons as per the guidelines issued by the Hon’ble supreme court.
Protection and right to work with dignity.
To promote, within the proper limits of the judicial function, the observation and the attainment of human rights.
To initiate appropriate disciplinary action.
To develop policies for the prevention of gender harassment.
Meeting to be held at least once in two months.
Monitor student activities in association with the anti-ragging squad members.
To maintain proper register of proceedings of meeting.
