National Deworming Day 2020
The National Deworming Day 2020 is observed on February 10 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The Child Health Nursing Department of Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing observed the National Deworming Day on 15th February 2020 at Govt. Lower Primary School, Souterpet, Valencia, Mangalore. The programme started by invoking God’s blessings through a hymn. The gathering was welcomed by Ms. Namitha of 3rd year B.Sc nursing. The day was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. A vibrant skit depicting the causes, signs and symptoms, lifecycle, treatment and prevention of worm infestation was enacted by the students of 3rd year B.Sc nursing which was very well interpreted by the school children. The technique of hand washing was exhibited through an action song. The school children enthusiastically participated in the different games that were conducted and prizes were distributed to the winners. Snacks were distributed to the school children. Dr. Theresa L. Mendonca, Vice Principal and Head of the Department of Child Health Nursing and Mrs. Jayalakshmi, Asst. teacher, Govt. Lower Primary School were present on the occasion.
