The department of Mental Health Nursing and NSS unit of Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing organized the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan on 20th August 2024, at Cascia High School Mangaluru under the guidelines of Social Justice Department, government of India.Mr. Guru Parasad, Managing Director of Born Again Recovery Center (BARC) Bolar, Mangalore was the Chief Guest cum resource person.In his address to the high school students, he appreciated the call given by the Social Justice Department to create awareness among youth on this important social problem that has increased manifold in Mangalore. In his session, he has shown videos depicting the ill effects not only to the individual, family but society at large scale.
The Headmaster, Mr. Everist F Crasta reiterated to the students to be away from drugs as the students are the future of our nation. Dr.Larissa Martha Sams Principal,Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing,presided over the event and articulated that students should not go in the wrong direction rather choose the right way to a good life.
The school recited the oath given by Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan pledging to make our district drug free.The NSS Volunteer composed and sang the theme song. motivating the students to be away from any sort of addictions .The whole program was organized by NSS volunteers of our college.
