Stress Management Programme

Department of Mental Health Nursing, Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing, Balmatta, Mangaluru organized a Stress management program” in Kulshekar, Mangalore on 26th May 2023. The Chief Guest of the day, Mrs. Aarabhi Rao, counselor, in her address to the self-help group women outlined the strategies of stress management. The Guest of Honor, Smt. Poornima Shetty chief executive officer of Navodaya Grama Vikas Charitable Trust, Mangalore emphasized the women to learn measures to tackle stress as stress is a universal phenomenon. Ms. Nayana L Gollarahalli demonstrated yogic asanas and made the self-help group women to re-demonstrate the asanas that are useful in promoting mental health among women. Principal of Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing, Dr. Larissa Martha Sams in her Presidential address, pointed out that though stress is present among all individuals, the level and impact of stress is not the same. Each has their own tolerance level. Nearly 40 members participated in the program. The HOD of the mental health nursing department, Dr. Thereza Mathias, Prof Shivakumar, and other faculty were present. Spot games were conducted for the self-help women workers to catch their attention and to motivate them. The program was compered by 3rd B.Sc Nursing student Ms. Dhanya Nayak, the welcome was accorded by Deepak Serrao and a vote of thanks by Brecita Dsouza. Refreshments were served to the participants.
