Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing held the Graduation day ceremony on 21st February 2021 at 6 pm at AJIMS auditorium, Kuntikana, Mangaluru. The chief guest for the day was Shri. Somashekarayya Kalmath , Senate member, RGUHS, Bengaluru and Associate Professor, KLE Institute of nursing science, Hubballi.
Around 132 graduates, guest and invites brought a grandeous atmosphere to the programme. The ceremony began with the graduates march followed by the HOD’s of various departments and the dignitaries.
Dr. Diana Lobo, Convener of the programme welcomed the gathering followed by lighting of the traditional lamp by the esteemed dignitaries.
The Vice Principal Dr. Theresa L. Mendonca read the annual report. Shri. Somashekarayya along with the Principal, Dr. Larissa Martha Sams conferred the graduates with medals and certificates. Dr. Jenifer DSouza, HOD, Department of community health nursing recited the ceremonial pledge and the students recapitulated it, committing themselves to the noble profession.
The chief guest Shri Somashekarayya, congratulated the graduates and enlightened that nurses are the true ambassadors of this institution to alleviate suffering inspire and innovate their service through integrity, compassion and loyalty.
Proficiency prizes were presented to the rank holders and college toppers by Shri Somashekarayya. Dr. Larissa Martha Sams presented the best outgoing students award.
Graduates Ms. Keerthi Anil and Ms. Ruveena Menezes, spouted on behalf of all the graduates. Dr. Larissa Martha Sams delivered the presidential address highlighting that the management is keen on improving the quality of patient care and wished all graduates, toppers and rank holders. Mrs. Patsy Castelino, Assistant Professor, proposed the vote of thanks.
The formal programme came to an end with National Anthem and recession of the graduates. Ms. Aileen Perera and Mrs.Veena Kulal compared the programme.
