The Graduation and Annual Day of Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing was held with great enthusiasm on Monday, April 13, at AJ Auditorium, Kuntikana.
The programme commenced with a prayer, followed by a warm welcome by Vice Principal Dr. Theresa Leonilda Mendonsa. Principal Dr. Larissa Martha Sams presented the annual report, highlighting the institution’s academic achievements and progress.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Melbin Michael Arakal, Senate Member of RGUHS, Bengaluru, released the college magazine, conferred degrees, and reminded graduates of the dignity of the nursing profession and their responsibility to society.
Dr. Sandhya D’Almeida administered the professional oath, while the presiding officer, Mr. Prashanth Shetty, Vice President of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust, appreciated the students’ disciplined service and achievements. Director Mrs. Ashritha P. Shetty was also present.
A total of 182 nursing students graduated, including 69 diploma holders, 108 undergraduates, and 2 postgraduates. Notably, three scholars were awarded PhDs, adding further distinction to the institution.
On behalf of the graduates, Ms. Ashly Varghese reflected on their academic journey. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Thereza Mathias, while Dr. Patsy Castelino, Ms. Rose Marian Mathew, and Mr. Manish J. Kotian gracefully compered the event. Cultural performances by students added vibrancy to the celebration.
